July 2009
For Microsoft Access, SQL Server,
Visual Studio .NET, and VB6 Professionals

Hi Everyone,
For our northern hemisphere customers, we hope you are
enjoying a nice summer. This July in DC has been
unbelievably mild and humidity free. But that doesn't mean
we've been just enjoying the weather.
We're very pleased to release two more products for
Microsoft Access 2007. Total Visual Agent and Total Access
Detective are now shipping with full support for Access
2007, the new ACCDB database format, and many new features
that our customers have requested and our innovative
development team implemented. We think you'll be very
excited by the results, which should make you more
productive than ever.
With 11 of our 12 Access products completed for Access
2007, we only have Total Visual SourceBook remaining to
complete our Total Access Ultimate Suite. We should finish
that soon. Thank you for our patience and continued support.
Best wishes,
Luke Chung

Shipping: Total Visual Agent 2007
For optimal performance,
Microsoft recommends you periodically compact and repair
Access Jet databases (ACCDB and MDBs). You also need to
create backups.

including running a macro or command line, in a fully
automated and audited manner. It can even run as an NT
Service for additional security and email you if problems
arise.
Total Visual Agent, the world's most popular maintenance
scheduling program for Microsoft Access, is now available
for Microsoft Access 2007. This is the seventh major release
of Total Visual Agent and introduces many
new
enhancements. From supporting Access 2007 and the new
ACCDB database formats, to enhanced Windows NT Service

Shipping: Total Access Detective 2007 and a New
Version for Access 2003
Total Access Detective quickly determines what's
different between two databases or two objects in one
database. Eliminate the guesswork and see which properties,
fields, controls, sections, macro lines, and VBA module
code. You can even compare records between tables and create
a new table by merging records between them.
In its sixth major revision since its debut in 1995,
Total Access Detective is the premier difference detector
for Access users and developers worldwide. This latest
version includes many
new features including:
- Support for Access 2007 support, the new ACCDB
database format, multi-value fields, and all the new
properties, macro actions, and VBA syntax
- Enhanced comparisons of Access Data Projects (ADPs)
- Data comparison between queries
- Data comparison between tables without identical
field names
- Optionally ignore small data differences between
numerical fields
- Command line automation for database comparisons
- New reports and output to PDF and XPS formats
- View the last results for two object comparisons
-
And
many more features
For our Access 2003 customers,
Version 11.7 is now available with many similar
enhancements. Existing customers can upgrade for a nominal
fee.
Tip for Office 2007: Adding Commonly-used Command
Buttons to the Quick Access Toolbar
In Microsoft Office 2007 programs (Access,
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) the Quick Access toolbar in
the upper left corner offers shortcuts to several
commonly-used toolbar buttons or commands. By default, it
just shows Save, Undo, and Redo. However, you can customize
this to
add commands that you use often.
Total Access Admin 2007 Update
Total Access Admin lets you monitor Access databases in
real time to see who's entering and exiting them.
As part of our commitment to quality
software, FMS regularly releases product update patches to
add new enhancements and resolve known issues. Most
recently, we have released an
update
for Total Access Admin 2007 (version 12.00.0134).
This update is available free of charge to
registered owners of Total Access Admin 2007, version 12.0.
Notification and download instructions for receiving the
patch were emailed to registered owners. If you did not
receive instructions, please
contact us so we can update your information.
Tip
for Office 2007: Collapsing the Office 2007 Ribbon to get
more space in your program
When moving from earlier versions of
Microsoft Office programs (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Outlook) to Office 2007, the new Ribbon can be very
difficult to get used to. One common complaint is that it
takes up so much space. However, did you know that
the
ribbon can be easily collapsed to give you extra vertical
space?
