Total Access Statistics for Access 2003 Released

VIENNA, VA – April 29, 2004 – FMS, Inc. announced today the release of Total Access Statistics for Access 2003. Total Access Statistics is the most advanced data analysis tool for Microsoft Access.

Total Access Statistics generates a wide range of statistical analysis, easily calculate frequency distributions, percentiles, correlations, regressions, t-test, crosstabs, ANOVA, non-parametrics, and wide variety of other numerical analysis either interactively or programmatically.

Integrated into Access as an add-in, an interactive Statistics Wizard guides users through the process of selecting the analysis to perform and the table and fields to analyze. The results are placed in Access tables that can be sorted, queried or used in reports. All analyses settings are automatically saved as scenarios that can be re-run or edited at any time. A programmatic interface is available to invoke scenarios within Access applications.

Total Access Statistics for Access 2003 is now shipping with many new features and analysis types. New versions for Access 2000 and 2002 are also available with these enhancements.

A new Record Analysis category was added and includes three new analysis types to help better manage your records:

  • Random - Generates or flags a subset of your records.

  • Ranking - Assigns a numeric rank to each record based on its value with special handling for ties.

  • Normalize - Convert non-normalized fields (text or numbers) into a new table in normalized format.

New percentile options for Describe and Percentile analysis are available for calculating Quintiles, Octiles, and every 5th percentile. You can also update each record in your data source with its percentile value.

"A new code generator gives you the code to add statistical analysis and probability calculations into your applications," said Luke Chung, FMS president and founder. "Total Access Statistics gives Access users and developers the power they need to analyze their Access data the way they expect within Access."

"Total Access Statistics...performs a wide range of data analysis right inside Access. The product includes a Statistics Wizard to perform parametric, group, and non-parametric analysis and more. The results are placed in Access tables that you can integrate into your forms and reports." said Alison Balter, Author
