Royalty-Free Redistribution of the ActiveX Controls in Total Access Components

Total Access Components is designed to be both easy and cost-effective for redistribution. Included with the product is a royalty-free runtime distribution license that allows you to redistribute the controls with as many Microsoft Access applications as you want to non-Total Access Components owners. It conforms to the Windows protocol for ActiveX controls.

Easy Redistribution

Total Access Components includes an automated setup program that you can include with your Access application. Called TACRUN32.exe and TACRUN64.exe, these setup programs:

• Install the Total Access Components controls and support files to the computer (either 32 or 64 bit version)
• Registers all the controls in the system registry
• Displays no prompts for user intervention--the program runs without the end-user's input

You simply need to run this file once on each user's machine and the controls will come to life in your MS Access application.

Easy to Update Earlier Versions

If you want to include an updated version of Total Access Components to users who have a previous version, our single-file ActiveX container means you only have to update one file. All 30 controls are handled with one file, simplifying the complexity.

Automatically Update Total Access Components Controls

If you are using Total Access Components 2007, 2003, 2002, or 2000, installing Total Access Components 2010 updates all Total Access Components controls automatically. This means that you do not have to remove the older version of the controls and replace them with the new version!

Coexistence with Total Access Components 97

The Total Access Components 2007 and 2010 controls have different identifiers (GUIDs) than Total Access Components 8.0 for Microsoft Access 97. This means Access 97 applications using Total Access Components 8.0 can coexist on the same machine as applications using newer versions of Total Access Components. The controls need to be deleted and reinserted with the new controls for the new features.
