"Total Access Statistics...performs a wide range of data analysis
right inside Access. The product includes a Statistics Wizard to perform
parametric, group, and non-parametric analysis and more. The results are
placed in Access tables that you can integrate into your forms and
reports."
Alison Balter,
Author of Mastering Access Desktop Development (excerpt)
"If you need to run statistical analysis on your databases (and these
days, a lot of people do), you no longer have to worry about getting
your data into Excel first, or writing lots of complex code-based
reports. Total Access Statistics does a good job of making the most of
your data. Couple that with a royalty free runtime distribution license
and you have a tool worth buying."
Craig M. Bobchin, Access/VB/SQL Advisor
"With an intuitive, easy-to-use Wizard interface and VBA interface, Total Access Statistics makes it easy
for users or programmers to perform statistical analysis. It
generates the analysis you need with output in a useful format:
tables. If you need to perform advanced numerical analysis,
consider Total Access Statistics."
Pam Hazelrigg, Access Advisor Product Review
Total Access Statistics is often used in scientific research. Here are a few published articles that are available online and reference Total Access Statistics:
"The most incredible software find I have made in 10 years!"
R. Slimmon, Nesteggs, Inc.
"FMS’ Total Access Statistics has been invaluable in my analysis of
stream biological monitoring data contained in a custom Access database.
Statistical methods are commonly used in the field of water quality
monitoring to relate changes in the biological community to measures of
human disturbance or ecological condition. For similar projects, I
previously used Excel or software packages like SAS and JMP for
statistical analyses. But after hearing good things about FMS’ products
through various Access newsgroups, I decided to download the Total
Access Statistics demo and give it a try. I could see its capabilities
at once. Instead of having to export data from my Access database to
“external” statistical applications, Total Access Statistics enabled me
to easily calculate descriptive statistics and run more sophisticated
analyses from within the Access environment. Total Access Statistics’
statistical scenarios combined with Access’ ability to select and group
data on certain criteria – e.g. by ecoregion, watershed, stream size,
etc. - made it possible to use Access as an analytical tool as well as a
data management application. For example, I could query tables for
specific groups of records, create a Total Access Statistics scenario to
calculate certain statistics for each group, and then use fields in the
output table to set criteria in additional queries – e.g. “WHERE
CoeffOfVariation<=0.50” etc. And because I was already accustomed to
working with Access, there was virtually no learning curve. I was able
to begin using Total Access Statistics almost immediately. I convinced
my supervisors to order the product and now use it almost every day."
