Thank you! Thank you! I just finished reading this document, which was part of a link in the recent Buzz newsletter. I have printed it for others to read, especially those skeptical on the powers of Access and its capabilities.

Link data from Microsoft Outlook into a Microsoft Access Database

Provided by: Dave Juth, Senior Systems Architect

Did you know you can link data from Microsoft Outlook into an Access database? To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new database called Outlook.mdb.

  2. Select File | Get External Data | Link Tables.

  3. In the Files of Type dropdown, select Outlook().

  4. In the Link Exchange/Outlook Wizard dialog box, expand the Address Book, Mailbox, or Public Folders and select the data to link into Microsoft Access as a table. For example, to link Contacts data, expand your mailbox and select the Contacts node. Click Next, name the table ‘Contacts,” and click Finish.

  5. When the Link/Exchange Wizard prompts you with the finished dialog, click the OK button and you will see a linked table in your database to your Microsoft Outlook data.
