object. All code is extensively tested with both version 5 and 6 of
Visual Basic and includes extensive comments, error handling where
appropriate, syntax definitions, and usage examples. Users can modify
the code, or learn new techniques from it. By eliminating the need to
rewrite common routines from scratch, developers can focus on other
tasks and become more productive than ever.
Code Explorer
The source code in Total VB SourceBook is organized in
our exclusive Code Explorer integrated directly into the
Visual Basic code editor. The code is organized into
categories (folders) with a Windows Explorer-like interface.
Users can quickly browse or use the powerful query tool to
locate the code they want. With a simple click of a button,
the selected code is integrated into the developer's Visual
Basic project. New features in Version 6 include improved
load time, more flexible naming rules, and the ability to
save existing code into a new category.
Code Repository
Developers often have difficulty finding the code they've
written before. Total VB SourceBook includes a powerful code
repository feature to allow developers to centralize and
integrate their own code into it. With additional licenses,
the code can even be shared and edited among multiple
developers. Version 6 Repository enhancements include the
ability to import code from files or objects in the Visual
Basic project, and improved flexibility in managing multiple
code databases.
User Comments
Total VB SourceBook is the only general purpose
professional code library for Visual Basic. Here are
some user comments:
"Total VB SourceBook is the best tool of its type
that I've seen. It is very extensible and comes with a
wealth of very solid, well thought out code. I highly
recommend it," said Joe LeVasseur, Microsoft Developer
MVP for Visual Basic.
Asbjoern Aamot, another Microsoft MVP adds, "Why
reinvent the wheel? Here is what you need, both for
newbies and professionals! Don't program without it!"
Tom Howe of Control Center Computing, Inc. simply
says, "If you can only have one product to help you use
Visual Basic better, get Total VB SourceBook. I love it
and use it all the time!"
Mission
"In May 1998, we introduced Total VB SourceBook version
5.0, our first Visual Basic product," said Luke Chung,
President of FMS. "We received rave reviews from the Visual
Basic community for our professional code library. Version
6.0 builds on that success by providing Visual Basic
developers even more productivity gains with our broad range
of powerful and well-tested code. With tight development
schedules and limited time to write, test, debug, and
document code, Total VB SourceBook pays for itself if
developers use a handful of its 110+ classes and modules."
Pricing and Availability
Total VB SourceBook is available in two versions: a
single license (one developer) version for $399 and a 5
